Much of my love of art and reading came from Dungeons & Dragons or one of its computer adaptations and I have many fond memories of rolling dice, frothing over rulebooks, braving perilous dungeons and ancient caverns, whilst battling Orcs and Trolls.

Gary was the creator of the first role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons which would form the standard and high bar for all other RPGs to follow and aspire to. His vision and game mechanics would also have a pivotal influence on the video and PC gaming community as well as many great artists and illustrators.

Gary Gygax's work on D&D was an inspiration to many of us and in many ways helped spark our passion and imagination. As a avid D&D player and someone who has worked within that community, I was greatly saddened by the news of his passing; I feel we've lost a true adventuring companion. Thanks for everything and farewell, Gary. You will be missed.
